A storied history of experience
Our first experience in oil and gas surveying began circa 1979, in Frio, TX and the surrounding area cities and towns. Shortly thereafter, a flurry of activity occurred in the Austin Chalk fields in various South Texas counties after the fracturing process was implemented, and then again after the horizontal drilling process was utilized. Smyth Surveyors, Inc. surveyed hundreds of both vertical and horizontal oil and gas wells, numerous pipelines, tank battery sites and disposal wells, along with many mineral leases during this period. The surge of development later subsided, but we continued oil- and gas-related surveying projects. Eventually, the Eagle Ford field activity once again offered us multiple opportunities for oil and gas-related business as a qualified pipeline and topographic surveyor in Uvalde, Concan, La Pryor, and Knippa, TX.
